Tug Wells

Tug Wells left the United States in 2002 to oversee the family mining concern in Paramaribo. An amateur typographer, Wells was for many years obsessed with the origins of the obscure OPTI Caliber typeface. After a fishing accident in French Guiana left him tone deaf, he took up graphic design. Conceptual artist Ed Ruscha once described Wells' collages and digital found art. Wells' most recent work can be found in Vogue Detroit, Der Spiegel, Be-Mag, and the New York Times Crossword Puzzle.
